Our New Billboard Campaign

Since its inception in April, 2004, the Triad Equality Alliance has brought messages like "We are your neighbors... and were are gay" to the Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem community through billboards, radio spots and newspaper ads, and the publicity they generate.

We have come a long way since 2004 when people were concerned or fearful about having their pictures on a gay billboard. This year our call to action for billboard models received such a positive response, we could easily have filled more billboards with people who are out, proud and eager to share their stories and let you get to know them and the lives they live. You can read more about our participants here.

Our billboards do change minds and one day we may take our equal rights for granted. We are not there yet. But we are making progress. If you are able to support our efforts through financial contributions, you can do it right here on our website. Our promise to you is we will use your contributions to show our world to people in the Triad, to people around the state and to people around the country. This view of our community will open hearts and minds. If you want to share your family album please send it in and we will add it to ours. Let your friends and family know that our door is always open at www.triadequality.org.

TEA's mission is to to eliminate prejudice and to secure social justice and civil rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (lgbt) people by educating and enlightening the general public about lgbt members of the community and the special issues affecting them.

TEA is currently planning upcoming campaigns. Contact us with your ideas; and as always, your generous support is greatly appreciated.
